If the number of rumour articles about the iPhone 7 weren't enough of an indication that it's hotly anticipated, a survey carried out by Bank of America and Merrill Lynch has revealed that 42% of people who intend to buy a new iPhone are waiting for the launch of the iPhone 7.

What's more, 51% of respondents who were waiting for the iPhone 7 are iPhone 6 or 6 Plus users and another 26% are 6S or 6S Plus users. Of the iPhone 5s owners, 49% intend to purchase the iPhone 6s or 6s Plus, while 21% of iPhone 5s users are waiting for the iPhone 7. There were 1000 respondents to the survey.

Of course, if you can manage it, waiting is a fairly smart thing to do. Rumours suggest that the iPhone 7 could be waterproof, come with wireless charging, have a much tougher display and be even thinner than before. But even if you aren't sure you want the lastest version you can expect a nice price drop on the iPhone 6 and 6s when the iPhone 7 hits the shelves.

UK mobile phone networks seems to be seeing all of being this born out in iPhone 6s sales, as EE have launched a flash sale offering 2GB of data and an iPhone 6s 16GB for just £24.99 a month an £50 upfront. By our calculation that means the plan itself costs only £4.62 a month, and it's generally accepted to be the best deal on the iPhone 6s yet!
