The new Nexus 5

Google's 2015 Nexus 5 device, which is likely to be called the Nexus 5X, will be manufactured by LG and is expected to be announced on 29 September.

Compared to the original Nexus 5, the 5X will gain:

  • a slightly larger display - 5.2 vs. 5 inches
  • a more powerful processor - possibly a 8 core Snapdragon 808
  • a fingerprint scanner
  • a metal frame and plastic back
  • two front facing speakers
  • Android 6.0 Marshmallow
  • USB Type-C

The nexus 5 might be a great value alternative to Samsung and Sony's flagship devices, but it's still a valuable bit of kit that you'll want to consider insuring. Our policies will be available to purchase when the Nexus 5X launches on 29 September. So check back here then.

The new Nexus 6

It's safe to say that the original Nexus 6 didn't capture the world's attention quite like the Nexus 5 did, and Google are hoping to change that with the next iteration (the Nexus 6P) being made by Huawei.

Here's what we think will change:

  • a new full metal build
  • a larger 3500mAh battery
  • USB Type-C
  • Andrid 6.0 Marshmallow
  • a slightly smaller display - 5.7 versus 6 inches

Once the Nexus 6 launches on 29 September we'll make our phone insurance policies available for purchase. Check back here for an instant quote and to get your Nexus 5X or Nexus 6P covered.
