Cancelling Your Policy

Your 14 day cooling-off period


You may cancel your insurance within 14 days of receiving the insurance documents, should you decide that it’s is no longer appropriate or required. You’ll receive a full refund of any premium that you’ve already paid, provided that no claim has been made and you do not intend to make a claim on this insurance.

Cancelling your policy after 14 days


If you have a monthly policy:


If you pay your premium on a monthly basis your policy will be cancelled at the next monthly anniversary of the date your policy commenced. There will be no refund of premium due as the premium paid will have only been in respect of the cover already received.

If you have an annual policy:


If you pay your insurance premium annually and providing no claim has been made under the policy you will receive a proportionate refund of premium based on the unused period of cover under the policy. Please note that refunds can take a few working days to appear on your bank statement. Policy cover will cease from the date we receive your cancellation instructions or from a later date at your request. If a claim has been made we will cancel your cover but not refund any premium.

Cancellation by us

We may cancel this insurance by giving you at least 30 days written notice at your last known address. Reasons we may cancel the policy are, but not limited to:

  • If we have reason to suspect you of fraud.
  • Where we have been unable to collect a premium payment from you. In this case, we will contact you by email after the first missed collection requesting payment of the premium. If we do not receive payment by the next collection date and the next payment is also missed, we will cancel your policy with immediate effect and send you an email confirmation of the cancellation.

If any of the above reasons should occur, we will write to you with our concerns and ask you to address them. Where this does not happen, we will then issue cancellation. If we cancel cover under your policy then no further premium will be payable by you. You will continue to receive any benefits for a valid claim if your claim date was prior to the date the policy was cancelled.
