We've worked hard to make our policy excesses as low and easy to understand as possible. Full details of the excess charges that will apply to your policy can be found below:
|up to £250||£25 for any claim|
|up to £999||£50 for any claim|
|Over £999||£75 for any claim|
So if you need to make a claim for a iPhone or other high-end smartphone you'll need to pay an excess of £50 for any successful accidental damage, theft or loss claim.
Some insurers charge additional excesses if you make a claim abroad, claim within the first month or have multiple claims within the same year. At Tinhat we keep things simple and only charge the flat fees you see above.
Frequently asked questions
Under what circumstances do I need to pay an excess?
If you make a successful claim on your insurance policy you will need to pay the relevant excess fee before your phone can be repaired or replaced. Our claims administrator Supercover Insurance Ltd will provide full details if and when you need to pay an excess.
Why do I need to pay an excess?
Having an excess charge on successful claims helps us to keep our premiums as low as possible, and makes our policies far more cost effective for more careful customers who don't often claim on their insurance.
